How to configure Norton Power Eraser Settings?

4.       Now, open Settings to view the following options:

a.       Network Proxy Settings

b.      Log Settings

c.       Multi-boot Check

d.      Rootkit Scan

5.       Hit Configure if you want to configure network proxy settings

a.       This option is valid only if your network is using proxy settings to connect to the internet

6.       Now, choose any of the followings:

a.       If you don’t have an idea of the proxy settings, choose Automatically Detect Settings. On the other hand, go with Use Automatic Configuration Script, in case you have an automatic configuration script. Now, enter the script in the space provided to type the URL

b.      On the contrary, if you know the proxy settings then go with Use a Proxy Server For Your HTTP Connections. Provide the address of the server along with the Port number in the next step.

c.       If the proxy server asks you for authentication, simply choose “Connecting to my firewall or proxy server requires authorization”. Thereafter, enter your username and password to proceed.

d.      Now, hit Apply followed by OK

e.      Proceed further according to the operating systems installed on your device

f.        Norton Power Eraser include Rootkit scan, which can be removed by unchecking “Include Rootkit Scan”

g.       You might be asked to restart your device

h.      Click Apply
